Gabriela grew up in Rockland County but has always had a heart for New York City. All her life she has attended church in Spanish Harlem and has family in the Bronx. Gabriela was inspired by her mother to get into social work but it wasn’t until she participated in the “Price of Life” Campaign, through Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at Hunter College, that she knew what population she wanted to work with. This experience not only brought awareness of human trafficking to the campus, but it was also when Gabriela learned about Restore. From that point forward she knew she wanted to get involved. Gabriela plans on getting her masters in social work in the near future and to make a career out of helping and advocating for those who have been taken advantage of.
