Founder and Executive Director, Freedom House

Jaida Im is the Founder and Executive Director of Freedom House. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the non-profit organization brings hope, restoration, and a new life to survivors of human trafficking. In August 2010, Freedom House opened The Monarch, the first residential shelter and long-term aftercare program of its kind in Northern California for adult female survivors. The Nest, its group home for girls ages 12 to 17, opened in 2014.

Jaida’s contributions to the abolitionist movement have been recognized by the California State Assembly, the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women, and the National Women’s History Project, which honored her in Washington D.C. as one of its “2014 Women of Courage, Character and Commitment.” Jaida brings to her role more than 20 years of experience as a healthcare professional in managed care organizations and holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California.
