Raising Awareness and Standing in Solidarity With Survivors
The Freedom Garden Initiative, which started on June 1st at Restore’s Transitional Home and continued at City Hall Park and Sara D. Roosevelt Park, has come to an end!
We partnered with the Horticultural Society, City Hall Park Group, City Hall Park Conservancy, Citibank, Sara Roosevelt Community Coalition, and BKind to make this happen. We had a total of 80 volunteers across four days and three sites, representing six corporate partners (Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, QBE, Citibank, Google, BlackRock), two church partners (Hope Network Churches, The Table Church), and Restore Volunteers. Hilton also participated by planting seeds on their own!
Through the Freedom Garden, we raised awareness that there are 26,000 people being trafficked in NYC today. Thank you for sharing this important initiative and for showing solidarity with survivors of trafficking.

Our #MayIsForMothers campaign culminated in our inaugural Freedom Garden, where we called on volunteers and partners to plant 1,000 flowers in two parks during the first week of June. We also invited the NYC community to join us by planting 25,000 in their own homes, gardens, and communities.
We want to thank all our partners and volunteers for joining our Freedom Garden Initiative and for helping make freedom real for survivors of human trafficking.
