Freedom Garden

Join us in planting 26,000 flowers to show that we are standing in solidarity with the 26,000 people currently in a trafficking situation in the five boroughs.

Raising Awareness and Standing in Solidarity With Survivors

Our #MayIsForMothers campaign will culminate with our inaugural Freedom Garden, calling on volunteers and partners to plant 1,000 flowers in two parks during the first week of June. We are also asking the NYC community to join us by planting 25,000 in their own homes, gardens, and communities.

The Freedom Garden Initiative came from a “seed” of an idea last year in 2023 by a fellow community member, Shimonah Israel, during a Jeffersonian-style Dinner event at Restore. When thinking about how to propel freedom for survivors of human trafficking, Shimonah shared her love for gardens and the idea of planting seeds in honor of survivors as a manifestation of the beauty of overcoming trafficking and living a flourishing life post-trafficking. We’re thankful that through the extension of thought leadership to our community, we can creatively raise awareness and stand in solidarity with survivors of human trafficking.
