For the past several months, Restore NYC has been preparing for the Restore Freedom Gala: Momentum, which will take place on September 19th. We’re thankful to have dedicated event experts, including board members, gala co-chairs, and dinner committee members, supporting our staff throughout this process.
Three of our board members in particular are going the extra mile for the gala, not only helping out as board members, but also as dedicated gala co-chairs. They’ve worked on everything from ticket strategy to floral decorations and more. Meet these amazing women working hard to make this year’s gala unforgettable!

Why do you support Restore?
Everything we have is from God, including our talents, influence, and freedom. It is a privilege to use those gifts to help women who have collided with evil and find themselves enslaved against their will.
Tell us about your personal experience with Restore.
My help is best leveraged when I engage with an organization where the mission is focusing on an underserved problem, the approach is recognized as a leader by its peers, the donor funds are treated with respect, and the leadership is excellent. Restore checks all those boxes.
What’s your favorite part of gala-planning? Your least favorite part?
I enjoy watching the pieces come together to tell the Restore story from different angles. Meetings aren’t my favorite format for communications (having to sit still brings out my dark side), but they go with the territory when it comes to group-planned events.
What are you most looking forward to at the gala?
I love connecting people who can help with a prime opportunity. Although trafficking is a heavy issue, helping fix it is energizing. I want others to share in the enjoyment I feel when I get to do good, well.
Fun fact about you?
I have visited and done something in all fifty US states. So, I’m a good resource for what to do if you find yourself in Iowa, Indiana, or Idaho!

They are fighting a heinous crime in my city and my neighborhoods.
Tell us about your personal experience with Restore.
The integrity of the Restore leadership and team is what drew me in and has kept me there. They are leaders in this field and yet are constantly searching for more solutions. They are fierce fighters with gentle spirits.
What’s your favorite part of gala-planning? Your least favorite part?
My favorite are all the hundreds of details that create a lovely evening that makes Restore guests feel special. My least favorite is when it is all over.
What are you most looking forward to at the gala?
The atmosphere; the look that we will create and the energy that the guests bring into the room. That is a killer combination. 🙂
Fun fact about you?
The bigger the event, the more I love it… never get overwhelmed.

Why do you support Restore?
I’ve seen the difference in the lives of the women served. Restore NYC is leading the way the police deal with victims and is making headway in eradicating trafficking in NYC.
Tell us about your personal experience with Restore.
As a volunteer I’ve seen the enormous change in the lives of the women in the safehome. As a board director I’ve experienced the integrity and excellence of the team.
What’s your favorite part of gala-planning? Your least favorite part?
I love seeing everything and everyone come together in celebration. My least favorite part is when friends aren’t able to make it.
What are you most looking forward to at the gala?
Hearing from a survivor and hearing Isaac Slade sing.
